Our Aims
The mission of Lifeboat Community Project is to run a family orientated play centre which is a fun and safe place to be, encouraging, enriching and restoring family and community life.
The Centre
The Play Centre is located in Ossett town centre and caters for children aged 0 to 10 and has been operating as a successful business for about 14 years. As well as having a substantial Play frame structure and soft play area for the children, there is plenty of room for parents and carers to relax in the cafe. The cafe provides a wide variety of drinks and meals. The centre can be hired for children's parties and other appropriate community ventures.
Lifeboat
Lifeboat Community Project Ltd is a not-for profit business recently set up to purchase and operate the existing Play Centre and develop it with more of a community focus. The aim is to provide the community with:
- A place to meet: Where parents and carers can meet, socialise and relax.
- Support: Everyone hits problems sometimes. And whether all you need is a sympathetic ear, or someone to guide you to the correct agency, our staff can help.
- Community: We pride ourselves on our community links. We have relationships with many local organisations including Ossett Educational Trust, Ossett Christians Together, SureStart, Wakefield Autism Support Group
- Information: On local events and support available to families.
- Events: Such as a Mother & Toddler Group, Engage (family church service), Autism Support Group private evenings and more.
